Meet the Team
Meet Cheyenne
Cheyenne is more than the inspiration behind our name—she is the reason this vision exists. When addiction, homelessness, and despair threatened to take everything, her unwavering love never left. She showed that sometimes the thing that saves a life isn't a program or a plan—it's a connection that reminds someone they are still worthy of love. Cheyenne's Bridge stands as a testament to the profound impact animals can have on the human spirit and the power of unconditional love to spark recovery.
For over 13 years, Cheyenne has been my constant companion through some of life's darkest and most challenging moments. When addiction took everything else, she remained. When I was homeless, she was there. When I felt lost, broken, and alone, she reminded me every day what unconditional love looked like.
Cheyenne's name comes from my best friend, who was taken from this world far too soon. He was fearless, loyal, humble, and full of life—the kind of person who left a mark on everyone he met. Naming her after him was a way to keep his spirit close, and over the years she has carried that same light into my life.
There were countless times when her loyalty gave me a reason to keep going. She sat at my feet during hospital stays, walked beside me through years of struggle, and never once judged me for where I had been. Her love remained constant until I could learn to love myself again.
Cheyenne's Bridge was named in her honor because she became exactly that—a bridge. A bridge from addiction to recovery. From hopelessness to purpose. From surviving to truly living.
Her legacy reminds us of a simple truth: sometimes love is the thing that saves us.
Meet Anthony Monteleone
Co-Founder, Peer Support Specialist, and Recovery Advocate
My name is Anthony Monteleone, and I am living proof that recovery is possible.
After years of addiction, homelessness, and feeling trapped in a life I could not escape, I made the decision to choose recovery. Today, I am proud to be in recovery and dedicated to helping others find the same hope and opportunity that was given to me.
I have worked in addiction treatment, managed sober living homes, facilitated recovery groups, and helped individuals navigate the challenges of rebuilding their lives. But my greatest qualification isn't a title—it's that I've lived it. I know what it's like to feel hopeless. I know what it's like to start over. And I know what it's like to discover that your life is worth fighting for.
Cheyenne's Bridge was built from a simple belief: people don't need judgment—they need opportunity, support, accountability, and someone who believes in them when they can't yet believe in themselves.
Alongside my partners, our mission is to create a place where people can find stability, community, purpose, and a path forward. A place where recovery and growth happen every day.
Because no matter where you've been, your story isn't over.
You are worth it. You always have been.
Meet Ryan Nix
Cheyenne’s Bridge exists because of second chances, and Ryan Nix is living proof of what those second chances can become.
Ryan was born and raised in the beautiful horse country of Ocala, surrounded by a loving family, devoted parents, supportive grandparents, and two incredible sisters. From an early age, he was introduced to drugs and alcohol while also discovering a passion that would shape much of his life—skateboarding.
By the age of 18, Ryan had achieved what many young skaters only dream of: becoming a professional skateboarder. But behind the success was a growing battle with addiction. What began as experimentation evolved into a daily lifestyle fueled by alcohol, drugs, and the chaos that often follows substance use. As addiction tightened its grip, Ryan found himself caught in a cycle that led to criminal behavior, incarceration, and countless life-altering consequences.
Despite the hardships, God never stopped placing people in Ryan’s path who believed he was worth saving.
On October 28, 2022, after years of pain, struggle, and near-death experiences, Ryan made the decision that changed everything. In complete surrender, he walked through the doors of a treatment program and began the journey of recovery. There, he learned to stop fighting alone, place his trust in God, and embrace a new way of living.
Today, Ryan credits every blessing in his life to God’s mercy, grace, and guidance.
Since finding recovery, Ryan has been given the opportunity to work in the recovery field, helping others discover the same hope and freedom that were so freely given to him. He believes there is no greater purpose than serving others and walking alongside those who are fighting addiction, alcoholism, and mental health challenges.
As a co-founder of Cheyenne’s Bridge, Ryan is committed to helping create a safe, stable, and supportive environment where individuals can rebuild their lives, restore relationships, and discover their purpose. Alongside his partners, he is dedicated to providing the kind of opportunity that helped transform his own life.
Ryan’s recovery journey has taught him that healing involves far more than simply abstaining from substances. It requires rebuilding the mind, body, and spirit through faith, honesty, accountability, compassion, forgiveness, and daily action. He believes that true growth comes from taking responsibility for our thoughts, emotions, words, and actions while learning to love ourselves and others with grace.
One lesson has become the foundation of Ryan’s life:
“You don’t find yourself—you build yourself.”
For Ryan, that process begins with surrendering to God, committing to meaningful goals, and taking consistent action every day.
God & Goals. Angels & Action. Faith & Fitness. Health is Wealth.
Ryan’s mission is simple: to help others discover that no matter how far they have fallen, recovery, purpose, and a meaningful life are still possible.
“All glory goes to God.”
